JonOne

JonOne, born John Andrew Perello in 1963, is an American-born artist who has made a name for himself in the world of street art. He started his career in the 1980s in Harlem, New York, where he began painting graffiti on subway cars and walls around the city.

His style is a unique blend of abstract expressionism and graffiti art, characterized by bold, colorful lines and shapes, often layered on top of each other to create a dynamic sense of movement and energy. His use of spray paint and drips, combined with traditional brushstrokes, adds a sense of spontaneity and rawness to his work.

JonOne’s influences come from his early experiences in the world of hip-hop and graffiti culture, as well as from the great painters of the abstract expressionist movement, such as Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. He has said that he sees his work as a continuation of the tradition of these artists, bringing a new perspective and style to the genre.

Over the years, JonOne has gained international recognition for his work, exhibiting in galleries and museums around the world, and collaborating with brands such as Nike and Hennessy. He has also become known for his large-scale murals, which can be found in cities around the world, from Paris to Seoul.

Despite his success, JonOne remains deeply connected to the roots of his art form, continuing to create works that challenge and inspire both himself and his viewers.
